What inspired you to pursue a career in marketing? Were you in another field before this?
I didn’t start in marketing at all. I actually worked in manufacturing and quality assurance for years. It taught me structure, organization, and how to communicate clearly, but it didn’t light me up creatively.
On the side, I was helping small businesses with social media and content just for fun. That is when I realized how much I loved storytelling. I loved taking someone’s idea and turning it into something that connects with people. The more I did it, the more I knew I wanted to do this full time.
Switching careers felt scary, but it also felt right. Marketing lets me blend creativity with strategy and use my voice in a way that makes an impact. I finally get to do what I love every day, and it never feels like “just work.”
What do you find most rewarding about your job? What are some of the biggest challenges you face in your role?
The most rewarding part of my job is seeing ideas turn into real results. I love watching a piece of content go from a concept on a Google Doc to something that sparks engagement, helps a client reach their goals, or tells a story that makes people feel something. Knowing that my creativity helps a business grow is the best feeling.
The biggest challenge is how fast the digital space changes. Algorithms shift, platforms update overnight, and trends evolve quicker than we can plan. It keeps me on my toes, but it also pushes me to keep learning, experimenting, and staying curious. In a way, the challenge is what keeps the work exciting.
Outside of work, what are some of your hobbies or interests that you’re passionate about?
Outside of work, I’m usually doing something creative. I love designing digital products, journaling, and working on passion projects that let me explore new ideas. I’m also a mom, so a lot of my happiest moments are spent with my kids cooking together, exploring new places, or just laughing at home.
Cooking is my love language. I love trying new foods, experimenting with recipes, and making meals for the people I care about. It is my favorite way to slow down and show love. And when I need quiet time, you’ll find me curled up with my Kobo e-reader and an iced coffee.
What motivates you to excel in your role, and how do you stay engaged and enthusiastic about your work on a day-to-day basis?
What motivates me is knowing that the work I do makes an impact. I love seeing ideas turn into something real. Whether it is a post that connects with someone or a campaign that helps a client reach their goals, watching the results unfold keeps me excited to do what I do.
I stay engaged by continuing to learn and challenge myself. Marketing changes quickly, so I stay curious and pay attention to trends, new tools, and new ideas. When the work feels meaningful and I am growing along the way, staying motivated comes naturally.
