What inspired you to pursue a career in marketing? Were you in another field before this?
Before I was a marketer – I was a digital retoucher aka “professional photoshopper. I liked being creative but I also really liked connecting people. Marketing combines those two things! I get to be creative everyday, using analytics to make decisions, then be creative on the messaging and imagery.
What do you find most rewarding about your job? What are some of the biggest challenges you face in your role?
Numbers don’t lie, looking at positive analytics is a big reward. It’s a great feeling when we are able to show our clients that the strategies we put in place – work! The biggest challenge is being patient to get the results that we want. The results don’t happen overnight, in most cases – it can take months to show results.
How do you maintain a healthy work-life balance?
I volunteer at my daughter’s school. I like to be involved my community and give back to the school for the kids.
Outside of work, what are some of your hobbies or interests that you’re passionate about?
I spent a lot of time with my family and friends. I love my time at Orange Theory (5am classes!) and going out for a run.
What motivates you to excel in your role, and how do you stay engaged and enthusiastic about your work on a day-to-day basis?
I do a lot of reading and researching on what’s new and happening in the world of digital marketing. I like taking the new trends, and incorporating them into our strategies.
I’ll always be honest and always take accountability. Sometimes the strategies we put into place don’t work, and that’s ok. We look at the bigger picture, make revisions until we start to see positive results with the goals that we set.
